Hello, I’m Srimati, the Inner Wisdom Coach. I help you awaken your own inner wisdom so that you can answer questions, solve problems and make the best decisions in your life, relationships and business.
Having graduated with a BA in Psychology in my native Glasgow, Scotland, I spent my twenties in a semi-monastic community in London, training intensively to become ordained into the Western Buddhist Order. Upon my ordination, I was given the spiritual name, Srimati, meaning ‘radiant mind’.
After nine years as an Order Member - leading communities and business teams as well as teaching meditation, giving talks and providing spiritual guidance – I moved to Devon. Once there, I resigned my ordination in order to fully embrace a more universal spirituality.
Looking for fresh vocational expression, I qualified as a Life Coach and set up Thrivecraft Coaching with my recently found soulmate and husband, Pat.
In tandem with my spiritual life, I am a social and ethical business entrepreneur. I have set up, run and been consultant to many ethical businesses, community enterprises and housing projects in London and Devon. With a particular interest in sustainable living, I am inspired to help create a new socio-economic era based on co-operation rather than exploitation.
Through Thrivecraft, I was able to bring together all my learning, spiritual wisdom and practical experience and have personally coached hundreds of individuals and organisations throughout the UK. As well as coaching clients one-to-one, I run courses in business, relationships, spiritual development and life coaching and continue to guide meditation and lead retreats.
All this has given me plenty to write and speak about. I’ve been a contributer and columnist for spiritual and positive living magazines including Dharma Life, Connect, Breathing Space, Common Ground and Re-Connect. I’ve also made numerous appearances in local and national press and radio.
My aim is to contribute accessible and relevant spiritual intelligence to modern life, relationships and business via books, social media, audios, videos and events. I am currently writing my first book on intuition.
I now live in a community spirited village near Totnes in Devon, UK with my husband, Pat, and 17 year old son, Jamie. Totnes is the seat of the Transition movement and a hotbed of progressive thinkers and cultural creatives. I enjoy dynamic collaborations with many talented local and worldwide friends and colleagues who share the same positive vision of human possibility and purpose.
sounds like you are thriving, very interesting to hear that you are involved in sustainable living. quite a few folk in the wbo are involved in transition town movements — in glasgow and lancaster as well as other places. for the moment my lifestyle is nomadic so i just keep my interest through reading etc but do plan to move back to glasgow at some point and will def get more involved there.
Hello Srimati, Rachel tweeted about your course today. I would love to attend a future course with you and find out more about what you do, especially as my family and I are moving to the South West to live. I don’t think I could move further away from my real home which is in the North East of Scotland!! But I am well travelled and am looking forward to living in a beautiful part of the UK.
Hiya Mandy. Thanks for your interest in the Entrepreneurs Find Inner Wisdom course – it was fab! I will let you know where and when the next one’s will be running (probably London, Glasgow, Manchester and Cornwall). When do you arrive in the South West? And where exactly? It certainly is beautiful here. I do sometimes run local classes and events too, so maybe we might meet around here. Best Wishes, Srimati.
I am one of Rachel’s online business mentees and listened at leisure to your interviews – it’s great that the feminine side to business is now getting a real look in. Hope to meet you in person, when you come to London.
Hi Tracey – thanks for saying hello. So glad that you enjoyed the videos and appreciate the power of feminine wisdom in business too. I look forward to meeting you in person before too long.
Best wishes, Srimati
